The most easterly part of Brighton's seafront has recently been developed and is currently featuring one of Europe's largest marinas. Moreover, part of the eastern side of the beach has been reconstructed into a sports complex, opened to the public in March 2007. The Complex has courts from volleyball to ultimate Frisbee.
Also are there museums and private galleries, including some in the arches on the seafront. A widespread practice is to showcase and sell art in cafes, pubs and bars. There is an organization working actively for promoting arts in the community named Phoenix Arts Association.
