American country music singer, virtuoso guitarist, and songwriter from Glen Dale, West Virginia, Brad Paisley was born on October 28, 1972.
His maternal grandfather gave Paisley his first guitar at age 8 and taught him how to play. This was the start of his love of country music. Brad wrote his first song at age 12 and by 13 he was the opening act for country singers such as Ricky Skaggs and George Jones.
After graduating from John Marshall High School in Glen Dale, West Virginia, he studied at West Liberty State College and was awarded a full-paid ASCAP scholarship to Belmont University in Nashville, Tennessee from 1993 to 1995. He met Frank Rogers who later became his producer and Kelley Lovelace who later became his songwriting partner.
Brad Paisley wrote David Kersh's top 5 hit, 'Another You,' after signing a songwriting contract with EMI Music Publishing. 'Who Needs Pictures' released on February 22, 1999 marked his singing debut.
