Grammy Award nominated American stand-up comedian Ron White A.K.A. Ron 'Tater Salad' White was born on December 18, 1956. Blue Collar Comedy Tour helped elevate White to star status following the original Blue Collar tour and DVD release. Ron White is the only member of the crew not to star in the Blue Collar TV series because he didn't want to be typecast as 'blue collar'. Although he says that he simply doesn't have the work ethic for a television show, White has made seven guest appearances. WB Network aired a pilot for The Ron White Show in 2005. It was an ill-fated variety show that combined a number of celebrity cameos, cartoons, and sketches.

comic Ron White says he was pulled over for driving down the sidewalk and arrested for driving under the influence when he was 17 (circa 1973-74). The arresting officer who knew him all his life, asked whether he had any aliases and White replied sarcastically that he was called Tater Salad. Seventeen years later (circa 1990-91), he was arrested for public drunkenness and an officer came to him with a copy of his arrest record, and asked whether he was Ron 'Tater Salad' White and the name stuck. Ron jokes that he sometimes calls his son, Marshal, 'Tater Tot' and that his dog, Sluggo calls him 'Tater'.
Internet rumors of his death circulated in 2005 but the exact source was unknown.
'You Can't Fix Stupid' was filmed in January 2006 at the Majestic Theater in Dallas, TX and was aired on Comedy Central to 4.5 million viewers becoming the #1 show in prime time on basic cable. The comedy CD of the show of Ron White was released on February 7, 2006 by Image Entertainment. It premiered at #14 on Billboard's Top 200, ranked #1 on the Billboard Comedy Charts for 9 consecutive weeks and has been nominated for a 2007 Grammy Award.
