The current American League Champions, Detroit Tigers are a major league baseball team based in Detroit, Michigan owned by Mike Ilitch. They defeated Oakland, 4 games to none and became the reigning champions but lost to the St. Louis Cardinals, 4 games to 1 in the 2006 World Series.
