The Edmonton Oilers is a ice hockey team. It is located in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. Edmonton Oilers play in the NHL (National Hockey League). Alberta Oilers united in 1972. Bill Hunter owned the team. His efforts to get hockey to Edmonton had been rejected by the NHL. In the start it was named, the Alberta Oilers due to the plan to split their home games between Edmonton and Calgary. For different reasons, Edmonton Oilers played all of its games in Edmonton, That’s why after this they have changed their names.

The team become famous in the fans, behind stars such as defenseman and team captain Al Hamilton, and forwards Blair McDonald and Bill Flett. The team has improved their  performance in 1978. Seasonal victory of Edmonton did not interfere into a championship, as they fell to the rival Winnipeg Jets in the Avco World Trophy Final.  Oilers enforcer Dave Semenko gained the last goal in WHA history. In 1979 the team has joined the NHL, with fellow WHA teams Hartford Whalers, Quebec Nordiques, and the Jets. In all these four teams, Edmonton team didn’t change it’s name as well as location as compared to all others

Edmonton Oilers is one of the greatest teams in hockey. It has talented team members like Wayne Gretzky, Mark Messier, Jari Kurri, Paul Coffey, Glenn Anderson, Grant Fuhr, and Kevin Lowe. Edmonton Oilers  is also one of the best sports teams ever and  Oilers were listed as one of the top five teams from the last 120 years.
The color of the uniform Edmonton Oilers is blue and orange. In the games of 1972 the name ALBERTA was written on the uniform instead to players names. In 1975 their uniform style was little changed with the blue base and the orange trim. The logo had a white oil drop, on a dark orange field, with the name of the team written in deep blue.
