The notable facilities of the team happen to be Agganis Arena, Nickerson field and Track & Tennis Center. Agganis Arena opened its doors back in 2005 as a home ground for Terriers’ Basketball and Hockey programs. The matchup between the two teams is known as the Battle of Commonwealth Avenue or the Green Line Rivalry. During the 90s under the leadership of the head coach Jack Parker, Terriers enjoyed huge amount of success by winning four Hockey East Tournament titles, six Hockey East Regular Season titles, three National Runner-up trophies as well as the National Championship in 1995. The team went through a Frozen Four drought for almost a decade starting from 1998, but it managed to strike back up again with a National Championship win in 2009.
 
Boston University Terriers’ hockey team also takes part in the Beanpot tournament which comprises three teams other than terriers; Boston College, Harvard, and Northeastern. The tournament has been contested since 1952, and Terriers have maintained its status as the most dominant one among all of them. Played each year at the TD Banknorth Garden, Terriers lead the pack with a total of twenty nine wins out of 58 Beanpot championships that have taken place by far.
