Comedian, actor was born on February 7, 1966 in Andrews, South Carolina. Rock is the eldest son of Julius Rock, a truck driver, and Rose Rock, a teacher. When Rock was a toddler his family shuffled to Brooklyn, New York. He spent the remainder of his childhood in Brooklyn's notoriously tough Bedford-Stuyvesant neighborhood. Chris Rock has been married to Malaak Compton-Rock since November 1996.

The magazine called 'Bring the Pain' 'a hilarious bout of verbal shadowboxing that showed he could take an audience into vicinity they were terrified to go'.
