Holiday Magic is a spectacular show by the San Antonio Symphony featuring conductor Akiko Fujimoto, vocalist Cristal Smith and the Children’s Chorus of San Antonio led by their artistic director, Marguerite McComick. It is a show created to celebrate the magic of Christmas this holidays and is set to feature a number of pre-show games and musical crafts such as the Name and Sing that Holiday Carol game. Parents are therefore advised to book Holiday Magic tickets and visit the venue early for a number of games and music this Christmas, alongwith their families.

The sensation that is Holiday Magic is organized by the San Antonio Symphony and the Children’s Chorus of San Antonio. The symphony orchestra is based in San Antonio, Texas and resides at The Majestic Theatre. Its music director is Sebastian Lang-Lessing. Its music season runs from September to June. Each season, it performs a number of programs, including around fourteen classical subscription programs, six Pops programs each of which is performed twice, four Young People’s Concerts series programs, four Interactive Family Classics series programs and a number of special features featuring notable guest artists. The San Antonio Symphony, creators of Holiday Magic, are lead by Sebastian Lang-Lessing as the music director, Akiko Fujimoto as assistant conductor and John Silantien as mastersingers conductor. It is home to seventy two full time musicians and its musicians are members of the International Conference of Symphony and Opera Musicians and the American Federation of Musicians. It has solid relationships with many other San Antonio musical organizations including the San Antonio Mastersingers and the Youth Orchestras of San Antonio, who perform alongside the symphony at many events.

The symphony behind Holiday Magic is a member of the American Symphony Orchestra League. The Children’s Chorus of San Antonio is the other organization behind this event. It is a notable San Antonio musical outfit led by Marguerite McComick, who also formed it in 1983. It is home to more than two hundred dedicated and talented young musicians from San Antonio and its mission is to educate young musicians in choral music and to give children opportunities to perform in the metropolitan area of which San Antonio is but a part.

The Children’s Chorus of San Antonio, performer at Holiday Magic, sings with many other groups other than the San Antonio Symphony. This includes the Texas Bach Choir, the UTSA Choirs and Orchestra, the US Air Force Band, the San Antonio Mastersingers and the Singing Sergeants. It has performed at many popular events including the San Antonio Festival, the San Antonio Founders Day Celebration, the Musica San Antonio and the San Antonio Early Music Festival.

In short, this is an event that is definitely a must see for children and utterly enjoyable for any adult who sees it live. It is indeed the perfect family event, complete with games before the concert, best seen via Holiday Magic tickets.
