The American rock band Jimmy Eat World may have stepped into the music industry in 1994 but they found mainstream critical and commercial success in 2001. Electable (Give it Up) appeared in Burnout Paradise whereas Big Casino and Here it Goes were used in college basketball season (2007-08). Gotta be Somebody’s Blues was heard in One Tree Hill.

The year 2010 saw the release of Invented which reached 11 on US Billboard 200. The album was well received in other places like Austria, Australia, UK, Ireland, Germany, Switzerland and Canada.
 
Invented is the seventh studio album by Jimmy Eat World. The album consisted of tracks like My Best Theory, Heart is Hard to Find, Coffee and Cigarettes, Action Needs an Audience etc. It sold more than 34,500 copies in the United States during its first week and landed at number 5 on US Billboard Rock Albums. The song My Best Theory bagged second position on US Alternative Songs chart. The album gathered positive response from many critics including AbsolutePunk, Alternative Press, Popmatters and BLARE magazine that called the band “talented” while praising the songs Evidence, Invented and My Best Theory.
 
Damage is one of the latest offerings by the band that has been described as “an attempt to at making an adult breakup record”. Offering songs like I Will Steal You Back, Appreciation, Book of Love and Damage the album reached number 2 and 4 on US Billboard Top Alternative Albums and US Billboard Top Rock Albums.
