Formed in 1947 as the Oak Ridge Quartet, Oak Ridge Boys is an amazing pop country and gospel group comprising of Joe Bonsall, Duane Allen, William Lee Golden and Richard Sterban. The singles, Elvira and (I'm Settin') Fancy Free have peaked at number one on the U.S. Country Charts. The group has also received the Academy of Country Music Award and Country Music Association Award for the song, Elvira.
In February 1982, the quartet released its seventh studio album, Bobbie Sue that climbed the U.S. Billboard Top Country Albums chart at number one and the U.S. Billboard 200 chart at number twenty. Some of the successful singles of the album include Bobbie Sue, So Fine and I Wish You Could Have Turned My Head. The album’s self-titled single, Bobbie Sue became a crossover hit debuting at number one on the country charts and number twelve on the pop charts. In May 2001, the quartet released through the Spring Hill Music label a full length gospel album, From the Heart that has also received a Country Album of the Year Award in 2002.
