Currently comprised of Zacky Vengeance, M. Shadows, Synyster Gates and Johnny Christ, Avenged Sevenfold is one of the top Hard Rock bands of our time. Avenged Sevenfold has gained massive popularity among the Heavy Metal listeners due to their distinct and rich heavy metal sound. As the band debuted with their album Sounding the Seventh Trumpet, they initially stepped into the industry as a metalcore band. But later on, their music evolved into heavy metal. The band kept on experimenting with their sound, and the first of their current sound was heard on their third studio release City of Evil. In addition that, City of Evil was also band’s first major label release.

Ever since the release of their studio album and their later release of self-titled album, the band kept on enjoying massive mainstream popularity. With growing number of fans, the band started touring extensively as well. However the band hit a major setback in 2009 when their highly talented drummer James ‘The Rev’ Sullivan died in 2009. Although losing the drummer had a strong impact on the band’s overall sound, but they continued as they recruited Mike Portnoy as their new drummer. Before that, Portnoy used to play for Dream Theater. With Portnoy as their new drummer, the band started working on their new album called Nightmare and released it in 2010. Following the release they band also went on tour in support of the album. The album was met with huge success, and it also managed to debut and peak at #1 spot on Billboard Top 200 chart. Hence Nightmare became the first of the band’s studio albums which took the top spot on the albums chart.

As of today, the band enjoys massive fan following all across the globe, which is why they keep on performing live frequently. Due to their worldwide success, the band is also ranked on the second spot on Top Ten Band’s of the Decade by Ultimate Guitar. By far, the band has five studio albums to their name along with one live/compilation album. Out of those five albums, they’ve released a total of eighteen singles as well. In terms of their commercial success, the band has been able to sell more than four million albums all across the globe.

So being a fan of either one of these bands, or the Heavy Metal music in general, Uproar Festival is must watch for all the listeners of the genre.
