Steel Panther

Steel Panther Tickets

The era of ‘80s might be long gone, but its music still lives on, thanks to the wildly chaotic antics of Steel Panther. Steel Panther is a glam heavy metal band from Los Angeles, California. Formed in the early 2000s, the band started under the name Metal Shop, later changing their name to Metal Skool and then finally to Steel Panther.

Although we have run out of Steel Panther Tickets, we would like to invite you to view tickets in the following places

Carrying on in the vein of genre-defining iconic heavy-weights like Poison and Mötley Crüe, Steel Panther are continuing the tradition of the outrageous and over-the-top “hair metal” genre, which saw its rise and fall during the 1980s. True to their roots, the band started out playing cover versions of popular glam metal hits and started to gain notice in the underground music circles of the L.A. Sunset Strip area for their energetic performances and their stage antics, which included parodying the artists whose songs they covered.

The four-member band includes Ralph “Michael Starr” Saez on lead vocals, Travis “Lexxi Foxxx” Harley on the bass guitar, Darren “Stix Zadinia” Leader on the drums and Russ “satchel” Parrish on the electric guitar. Two members of the band were already in other bands, but they used stage names in order to separate themselves from their other acts.
A huge part of the band’s appeal stems from its made-up persona and those of its members. The band humorously claims that they started out towards the end of the ‘80s but that they were unable to achieve any measure of popularity or widespread success during that time. Stemming from this, another major component of Steel Panther’s persona involves lampooning the L.A. hair metal music of the 1980s, and the lifestyle associated with it. The members of the band wear leather jackets and tight spandex pants with zebra or cheetah prints and have outrageously long, hair-sprayed hairstyles. The band’s songs have amusing and often obscene lyrics, deliberately exaggerated for comedic effect.
However, the band is far from being a mere elaborate caricature of an era long gone. To date, Steel Panther have released two full-length studio albums, both to generally favorable critical reception as well as commercial success. The first album, Feel the Steel, was released in 2009 and debuted at number one on the Billboard Comedy chart. It also reached number one hundred and twenty-three on the Billboard 200 chart, peaking at number 98. The album featured hit songs “Community Property” and “Death to All But Metal” and was even successful enough to make it to the “Best Comedy Album” ballot for the Grammys, but failed to garner a nomination. The album was, however, awarded “Best Debut” by Metal Hammer Germany, a well-known metal-centric music magazine. Feel the Steel also featured guest performances by rock vocalists Corey Taylor, Justin Hawkins and M. Shadows of Slipknot, The Darkness and Avenged Sevenfold fame, respectively.
Following on the heels of the success of their first record, the band released their follow-up album, Balls Out, in early 2012. Their latest offering fared even better than their first, with the album reaching number one on the UK iTunes Chart, beating out such established acts like Megadeth and Metallica. In the U.S, the album reached number forty in the Billboard 200 chart, number one on the Billboard Comedy charts and number four on the US iTunes Rock chart, with the album selling more than 10,000 copies in just its first week of release!
Steel Panther’s shows are known to be loud, eccentric and extravagant and provide a spectacular exhibit of showmanship, which the band displays in spades. Furthermore, due to their rising popularity, many of the band’s shows have known to feature guest appearances by well-known musicians, including the likes of Ton Morello (Rage Against the Machine/Audioslave), Scot Ian (Anthrax), Corey Taylor (Slipknot), Paul Stanley (KISS) and P!ink, Avril Lavigne, Kelly Clarkson and Criss Angel, to name just a few. As a result, band’s live performances are quite the audience-draw, making Steel Panther tickets a much sought-after commodity.
Needless to say, Steel Panther have cemented themselves as a prominent emerging act with huge appeal for everyone from metal and rock fans to those still basking in the nostalgia of the bygone era. So, whether you are a fan of the band for their music or kitsch value or just love going to live rock shows and have a good time, Steel Panther tickets are currently available for shows of their current tour.
